Description
Lost In Urban America - El Rosa Hotel - Tenderloin District - San Francisco California - 5D19351
166 Turk Street. Smith said the following of this 7-Up sign on the side of an SRO once known as the El Rosa Hotel: "This is probably the best single wall and example of old signage in SF. It has so many layers on it and they're so well preserved, because you have this narrow little parking lot and this tall building on the left that blocks most of the direct sun. "The El Rosa was the hotel that people involved in the Compton's Cafeteria Riot lived in, which was a major historical moment in gay and trans rights in San Francisco." -sfgate
